These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are the agreement between you and Revizona Ltd for using Revizona. They explain what we provide, what we expect from you, how payment and cancellation work, and what to do if something goes wrong. Where we say “you”, we mean the person using Revizona and, for users under 18, also their parent or guardian where the context requires.

Some parts of Revizona have their own pages that form part of these Terms. They are listed in section 1.3.

1. Who we are and how to contact us

1.1 Revizona is operated by Revizona Ltd (“Revizona”, “we”, “us”, “our”), a private limited company registered in England and Wales under company number [COMPANY NUMBER]. Our registered office and postal address is [REGISTERED OFFICE ADDRESS]. VAT number: [CONFIRM: VAT number, if registered].

1.2 Contact. Email [email protected] for help and complaints (telephone: [CUSTOMER SERVICE PHONE NUMBER, IF ANY]), [email protected] for parent and guardian questions, [email protected] for data requests (our Data Protection Officer, [DPO NAME], is at [email protected]) and [email protected] for legal notices. You can also write to our registered office. If we need to contact you, we will use the email address linked to your account (and, for users under 18, the parent or guardian email address we hold).

1.3 Other documents that form part of these Terms. These pages apply together with these Terms:

Our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy explain how we handle personal data. They are notices to you, not contract terms. If there is a conflict between these Terms and another page listed above, these Terms apply, unless the other page gives you more rights.

2. Accepting these Terms and who can use Revizona

2.1 Accepting. You accept these Terms when you create an account, or when you buy a subscription, whichever happens first. You do not need an account to read our free blog and revision guides, and these Terms do not apply to that use except sections 7 (acceptable use) and 9 (content and intellectual property), which apply to anyone using our website.

2.2 Minimum age. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. We do not knowingly allow anyone under 13 to register. If we learn that a user is under 13, we will close the account and delete the personal data linked to it, as explained in our Privacy Policy.

2.3 Users aged 13 to 17. You can use Revizona, but a parent or guardian must buy your subscription and agree to these Terms for you, because contracts made by under-18s are not always enforceable in England and Wales. The parent or guardian is then the customer for that subscription. They:

  • agree to these Terms on your behalf and together with you;
  • can see your progress and manage the subscription, as explained in Children and Parents; and
  • can ask us to close the account.

You can exercise your own data protection rights, and a parent or guardian can act for you where appropriate.

2.4 Designed for young people. In line with the ICO’s Age Appropriate Design Code, accounts for under-18s have high-privacy settings by default. We do not show advertising, profile children for advertising, use location data, or use design techniques intended to push you into spending more time or money. More detail is in Children and Parents.

2.5 Personal use. Revizona is for personal, non-commercial study. If you want to use it for a school, tutoring business or other organisation, please contact us first, as different terms may apply (see also section 12.7).

2.6 Your information must be accurate. You must give us true and up-to-date information when you register, including your age and, if you are under 18, your parent or guardian’s real email address.

3. Your account

3.1 Your account is for one person only. Do not share your login details or let anyone else use your account. Each student needs their own account.

3.2 Keep your password secure and do not use it on other websites. Tell us straight away at [email protected] if you think someone else has used your account or knows your password.

3.3 You are responsible for what happens on your account when you have allowed it or have not taken reasonable care of your login details. We are responsible for losses caused by our own failure to keep the Service secure. If someone accesses your account without your permission and you were not at fault, we will help you secure it and will not hold you responsible for what they did.

3.4 You can close your account at any time in your account settings or by emailing [email protected]. Section 11 explains what happens next.

4. The Service

4.1 What Revizona is. Revizona is an online self-study service for students preparing for Cambridge IGCSE and A Level and Pearson Edexcel International GCSE examinations (the “Service”). It includes:

  • practice questions, including our own original questions and questions based on past examination papers;
  • automatic marking of your answers, using rule-based marking and, for written answers, an artificial intelligence (AI) model;
  • explanations, worked answers and feedback;
  • topic mastery and progress tracking; and
  • a free blog with revision guides.

4.2 What Revizona is not. Revizona is a study aid. It is not a school, a tutoring service or an exam board. In particular:

  • there are no live tutors or lessons;
  • there is no chat, messaging or public profile, and students cannot see, contact or share content with each other;
  • marks and feedback are not official, are not issued by any exam board, and do not predict your exam grade; and
  • using Revizona does not guarantee any exam result, grade, place at a school or university, or other outcome.

4.3 Not affiliated with exam boards. Revizona is independent. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Cambridge University Press & Assessment, Cambridge International Education or Pearson Education. “Cambridge”, “IGCSE”, “Pearson” and “Edexcel” are trademarks of their respective owners. We use these names only to describe the qualifications our questions help you prepare for.

4.4 How we provide the Service. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, the Service must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose, as described, and provided with reasonable care and skill. We work hard to keep questions, mark schemes and explanations accurate, but mistakes can happen. Please report any error in the app or to [email protected] and we will review it.

4.5 What you need. You need a suitable device, an up-to-date browser and an internet connection, and you pay your own data costs. Revizona works in current versions of [SUPPORTED BROWSERS AND DEVICES]. It does not need any software to be installed and does not use technical protection measures that stop you using it on your own devices. We aim to meet WCAG 2.2 AA; see Accessibility if you need an adjustment.

4.6 How the contract is made. You choose a plan, see the total price, billing period and renewal terms at checkout, confirm these Terms, and pay. Before you pay, you can check and correct the details you have entered. The contract is formed when we email you to confirm your subscription. That email includes a copy of these Terms (or a link to the version that applied when you bought) and, where relevant, a record of your choice about immediate access described in section 6.2. Please keep it.

5. Subscriptions and payment

This section summarises the key points. Full details are on our Subscriptions, Cancellation & Refunds page.

5.1 Price. The price of each plan is shown on our pricing page and at checkout before you pay. It is the total you pay: it includes VAT where it applies, and we do not add other mandatory fees later in checkout. [CONFIRM: currency(ies) and VAT treatment with accountant]

5.2 Payment. Payments are processed by our payment provider, [PAYMENT PROVIDER]. We never see or store your full card number. By subscribing, you authorise us and our payment provider to charge the payment method you choose for the first period and for each renewal until you cancel.

5.3 Automatic renewal. Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each period for the same length of period, at the price then in effect, unless you cancel before the renewal date. We tell you this clearly at checkout and send reminders before renewals, as explained on the Subscriptions page.

5.4 Cancelling. You can cancel at any time, online in your account settings in a single straightforward process, or by emailing [email protected]. Cancellation stops future renewals. You keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for. We confirm every cancellation by email straight away.

5.5 Price changes. If we change the price of your plan, we will tell you at least 30 days before the new price applies to you. The new price applies only from your next renewal after that notice period. If you do not want to pay it, you can cancel before it takes effect and you will not be charged it.

5.6 Bank fees. If your card is in a different currency from the one we charge in, your bank may charge exchange or foreign transaction fees, which we do not set or receive.

5.7 Failed payments. If a payment fails, we will tell you and try again. If we still cannot collect payment after the grace period described on the Subscriptions page, we may pause your paid features until payment is made. Your account and progress data are not deleted because of a failed payment.

6. Your right to cancel and get a refund

6.1 Our refund policy. The full policy is on the Subscriptions, Cancellation & Refunds page. In summary: a full refund if you ask within 14 days of your first purchase and fewer than 10 of your answers have been marked; a fix, refund or pro-rata credit if the Service is faulty or not as described; and a refund of an unwanted renewal if you ask within 7 days of the renewal date and have not used the paid features since. Refunds go to your original payment method within 14 days of approval.

6.2 Your legal 14-day right to cancel. Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, you can cancel within 14 days of buying a subscription. Because Revizona gives you digital content and services straight away, we ask at checkout whether you want access to start immediately. If you expressly agree to immediate access and acknowledge that you will lose your legal right to cancel once access starts, that right ends when you start using the paid features. We confirm your choice in the confirmation email. Our refund policy in section 6.1 still applies. If you did not give that consent and acknowledgement, you can cancel within the 14 days and we will refund you, less a proportionate amount for any service provided up to the time you told us you wanted to cancel.

6.3 Your other legal rights. If the Service is faulty or not as described, the Consumer Rights Act 2015 gives you the right to have it fixed or supplied again or, if that is not possible, a price reduction or refund. Our refund policy adds to these rights and never reduces them.

7. Acceptable use

7.1 We want Revizona to be fair, safe and useful for every student. The full rules are in Academic Integrity and Acceptable Use. In summary, you must not:

  • use Revizona to cheat, including during any real examination, test or assessed coursework, or submit Revizona content as your own work where that is not allowed;
  • share your account, sell access, or let others use your login;
  • copy, scrape, download in bulk, republish or resell our questions, answers, explanations or other content, or use them to train AI models;
  • try to trick or manipulate the AI marker, for example by putting instructions to the AI inside your answer;
  • use bots, scripts or automated tools to access the Service, except tools such as screen readers that help you use it;
  • try to access parts of the Service, other accounts or our systems that you are not authorised to access, or interfere with or overload the Service;
  • reverse engineer the Service, except where the law allows this;
  • upload anything unlawful, harmful, offensive or that infringes someone else’s rights; or
  • break any law that applies to you.

7.2 If you find a security weakness, please report it to [email protected] and follow our Security page. Good-faith research done under that page is not a breach of these Terms, and we will not pursue legal action, including under the Computer Misuse Act 1990, against it.

7.3 Reporting misuse. You can report misuse of Revizona, or content you think is harmful or unlawful, to [email protected] or using Report a problem in the app. Concerns about a child’s safety go to [email protected] and are handled as a priority, as explained on our Complaints page. We review every report.

7.4 Lawful requests. We comply with lawful orders from courts and authorities, and will tell you if one affects your account where the law allows.

8. AI marking

8.1 Some written answers are marked by an AI model provided by [AI PROVIDER]. Our AI Marking page explains how it works and what its limits are.

8.2 AI marks are formative feedback to help you practise. They are estimates and can be wrong. They are not official marks, are not issued or approved by any exam board, and do not predict your exam grade. We do not use AI marks to make any decision that has a legal or similarly significant effect on you.

8.3 Human review. You can ask for a person to review any AI mark, free of charge, using “report a mark” in the app or by emailing [email protected]. A member of our team with knowledge of the subject reviews the answer against the mark scheme, normally within 5 working days, and we will correct the mark if it is wrong.

8.4 We send the AI provider the question, the mark scheme and your answer. We do not send your name or email address. Our provider is not allowed to use our data to train its models. More detail is in our Privacy Policy.

9. Content and intellectual property

9.1 Our content. Revizona’s website, software, design, original questions, explanations, worked answers, revision guides and other materials we create (“Our Content”) belong to us or our licensors and are protected by the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 and other laws.

9.2 Your licence to use Our Content. While you have an account (and, for paid features, while your subscription is active), we give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access and use Our Content for your own private study. You may print or save small extracts for your own revision. You may not copy, share, publish, sell, or use Our Content for any other purpose without our written permission. You may read and share links to our free blog posts.

9.3 Exam board materials. Some questions are based on past examination papers and mark schemes published by exam boards. Copyright in those papers and mark schemes belongs to their owners. Nothing in these Terms gives you any rights in those materials beyond using them within Revizona for your own private study. If you are a rights holder and have a concern, please see section 9.6.

9.4 Your answers. You own the answers and other text you submit (“Your Answers”). So that we can provide the Service, you give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, copy, process and display Your Answers, and to send them to our service providers (including our AI marking provider), in order to:

  • mark them and give you feedback;
  • show you your history and progress;
  • allow a member of our team to review a mark when you or our systems flag it; and
  • check the quality of the Service we provide to you, for example by comparing AI marks with human reviews and correcting questions, mark schemes and marking instructions that cause errors. We use Your Answers in de-identified or aggregated form for this wherever possible, as explained in our Privacy Policy.

We do not use Your Answers to train or fine-tune any AI model, whether ours or a provider’s, and we do not sell or publish them. If we ever want to use answers for that purpose, we will ask for your separate, optional consent first (and, if you are under 18, your parent’s or guardian’s), and saying no will not affect your use of Revizona.

This licence ends when Your Answers are deleted from our systems, except for copies we must keep by law or that remain in secure backups for a limited period before being deleted in the normal cycle.

9.5 Your answers stay private. We will not publish Your Answers or show them to other users. A parent or guardian of a user under 18 can view that user’s progress, as explained in Children and Parents.

9.6 Copyright concerns. If you believe something on Revizona infringes your copyright, email [email protected]. We will review every notice promptly and remove or disable access to material where appropriate. Our Copyright page explains the notice and counter-notice process.

10. Availability and changes to the Service

10.1 Availability. We aim to keep Revizona available at all times, but cannot promise it will never be interrupted or contain errors. We may suspend access briefly for maintenance or security, and will try to give advance notice of planned maintenance and keep interruptions short.

10.2 Changes we can make at any time. We regularly improve Revizona. We may add or update questions, features and content, fix errors, improve security, and make changes needed to comply with the law. These changes will not make the Service materially worse for you.

10.3 Changes that materially affect you. If we plan a change that would make the Service materially worse for you (for example, removing a subject or a main feature you paid for), we will tell you at least 30 days in advance, unless the change is needed urgently for legal or security reasons, in which case we will tell you as soon as we can. You may then cancel your subscription and we will refund the part of your payment that covers the period after the change takes effect (a “pro-rata refund”).

10.4 Ending the Service. If we decide to stop providing Revizona altogether, we will give you at least 30 days’ notice and a pro-rata refund for any period you have paid for but will not receive. We will also give you a reasonable opportunity to download a copy of your data where technically possible.

11. Suspension and termination

11.1 By you. You can stop using Revizona and close your account at any time. If you have a paid subscription, cancelling it stops future renewals. Refunds follow section 6 and the Subscriptions page.

11.2 By us, after notice. If you seriously or repeatedly break these Terms, we may suspend or close your account. Before doing so, we will normally write to you explaining the problem and give you a reasonable chance to put it right.

11.3 By us, without notice. We may suspend or close an account immediately only where this is reasonably necessary because of:

  • fraud or suspected fraud, including payment fraud;
  • a serious risk to the security of Revizona, our users or our systems;
  • unlawful activity, or a lawful order from a court or authority; or
  • a serious breach of section 7, such as large-scale scraping or reselling of content.

We will tell you why as soon as we can, unless the law prevents it.

11.4 Refunds on termination. If we close your account because you seriously or repeatedly broke these Terms, we will refund the unused part of your paid period, less any reasonable costs your breach caused us, unless the subscription was obtained by fraud or payment abuse. If we close your account for any reason that is not your fault, we will give you a pro-rata refund. If we suspended or closed your account by mistake, we will restore it and put things right.

11.5 What happens to your data. When an account is closed, we delete or anonymise your personal data in line with our Privacy Policy, keeping only what we must keep by law (for example, payment records for tax purposes). You can ask us for a copy of your data before your account is closed.

11.6 Sections that continue. Sections 9, 12, 13, 14 and 17 continue after these Terms end, together with any other terms that by their nature are intended to continue.

12. Our responsibility to you

12.1 What we never exclude. Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for:

  • death or personal injury caused by our negligence;
  • fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or
  • any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded by law, including your statutory rights as a consumer under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

12.2 Foreseeable loss. If you are a consumer, we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these Terms or our failing to use reasonable care and skill. Loss or damage is foreseeable if it is obvious that it will happen, or if, at the time you subscribed, both we and you knew it might happen. We are not responsible for loss or damage that is not foreseeable.

12.3 Exam results. Exam results depend on many things outside our control, including your own preparation, the exam itself and the exam board’s marking. We do not promise any particular result, and we are not responsible for your exam results, grades or admissions decisions. This does not affect our responsibility under section 12.2 if the Service is faulty or not as described.

12.4 Damage to your device. If digital content we supply damages your device or other digital content because we did not use reasonable care and skill, we will repair the damage or compensate you, as section 46 of the Consumer Rights Act 2015 requires.

12.5 Limit on our liability. This section does not apply to anything in section 12.1, and it does not limit your statutory remedies as a consumer, including repair or replacement, a price reduction or refund (up to the full price you paid), or compensation under section 12.4. For any other loss, our total liability to you for all claims arising out of or in connection with these Terms is limited to the greater of:

  • the total fees you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim; or
  • £50.

12.6 Things outside our control. We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control, such as a major internet outage, natural disaster or government action. We will tell you, take reasonable steps to limit the effect and, if it lasts a long time, you can cancel with a pro-rata refund.

12.7 Business users. If you use Revizona for a business, school or other organisation rather than as a consumer, we are not liable to you for any indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, revenue, business, contracts, goodwill or anticipated savings. Sections 12.1 and 12.5 also apply to you, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount in section 12.5.

12.8 Links. Our blog may link to websites run by others. We do not control those websites and are not responsible for their content.

13. Complaints and disputes

13.1 Tell us first. If you are unhappy with Revizona, please email [email protected] or [email protected], or write to our registered office. Our Complaints page explains how we handle complaints and how long each step takes. We will try to resolve your complaint fairly and quickly.

13.2 Alternative dispute resolution. If we cannot resolve your complaint, we will tell you in writing. The certified ADR provider for our sector is [CONFIRM: ADR provider and whether Revizona agrees to use it]. Citizens Advice (citizensadvice.org.uk) offers free guidance, and you can also bring a claim in the courts (section 14).

13.3 No compulsory arbitration. We will never require a consumer to resolve a dispute by arbitration.

14. Governing law and where claims can be brought

14.1 These Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.

14.2 If you are a consumer, you can bring legal proceedings in the courts of England and Wales or, if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, in your local courts, and you keep the mandatory consumer protections of the place where you live.

14.3 If you live outside the UK, nothing in these Terms removes protections that the mandatory consumer law of your country gives you.

14.4 If you are a business user, the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.

15. Changes to these Terms

15.1 We may update these Terms, for example to reflect changes in the law or in our features. The date of the latest update is shown at the top of this page.

15.2 Minor changes. For changes that do not reduce your rights or increase your obligations (such as correcting typing errors, clarifying wording or updating contact details), we will update this page without advance notice.

15.3 Material changes. For any change that materially affects you, we will tell you by email and in the app at least 30 days before it takes effect, and explain what is changing. If you do not agree, you can cancel your subscription or close your account before the change takes effect, and we will give you a pro-rata refund for any period you have paid for after that date. We will not treat you as having accepted a material change just because you did not reply. If you keep using Revizona after the change takes effect, we will ask you to confirm the updated Terms when you next sign in or renew.

15.4 No harmful changes during a paid period. A change that is to your disadvantage will not apply to a subscription period you have already paid for. It will apply from your next renewal after the notice period, unless you agree otherwise, or unless the change is required by law or a regulator, or is urgently needed to protect the security of Revizona or its users. In those cases we will give you as much notice as we can and you can cancel with a pro-rata refund.

16. Privacy

16.1 Our Privacy Policy explains how we use personal data and your rights under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. Our Cookie Policy explains the strictly necessary cookies we use. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party trackers, and we do not sell personal data.

17. General

17.1 If part of these Terms is invalid. Each section of these Terms operates separately. If a court decides that any part is unlawful or unenforceable, the rest stays in full force.

17.2 No waiver. If either of us delays enforcing these Terms, that does not stop us enforcing them later.

17.3 Transferring this agreement. We may transfer our rights and obligations under these Terms to another organisation, for example if our business is sold. We will tell you in writing, and we will make sure the transfer does not reduce your rights. If you are unhappy with the transfer, you can cancel and receive a pro-rata refund. Your account and subscription are personal to you, so you may only transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms with our written agreement.

17.4 Other people’s rights. These Terms are between you and us. No one else has the right to enforce them, except a parent or guardian who has agreed to them on behalf of a user under 18.

17.5 Entire agreement. These Terms, together with the pages listed in section 1.3, are the whole agreement between you and us about Revizona. This does not limit your statutory rights or any liability for fraudulent misrepresentation, and it does not exclude any statement we made about the Service that the law treats as part of our contract with you.

17.6 Notices. We send notices to your account email address. You can send notices to [email protected] or our registered office.
